What to know before your Gait Analysis appointment

Before you attend

We will contact you with some screening questions and to ensure the necessary paperwork has been completed.

What to expect

Your initial gait analysis will be 2 intensive hours. We will establish your problems, goals and conduct a physical assessment as well as a brief gait assessment.
The next steps will depend on the clinician's decision making but will most likely entail a series of formal gait analyses and testing of appropriate assistive technology.

What to bring

Patients will need to bring the following:
◉ All NDIS paperwork and relevant medical reports.
◉ Shoes appropriate for walking and physical activity (lace up runners are ideal)
◉ The shoes which you wear most regularly
◉ Shorts and clothing suitable for physical activity

Funding and NDIS

We see private, compensable and NDIS funded patients.
The gait clinic will run for 2 hours with two clinicians. This will require 4 hours of funding in your NDIS plan.
The report writing and data analysis will require 2 hours of funding.

For referrers

*We can provide a clear english report based on our findings, including still images and short snippets of video if required. If there are particular aspects of the patient’s gait you would like answers or information on, these can be provided.
