The Gait Clinic

The Gait Clinic is a collaborative gait analysis clinic serviced by Orthotics Plus and Klint Neuro aimed at assisting people with gait problems to improve their mobility through physiotherapy and assistive technology.

Please contact us if you are not satisfied with your current outcomes or have any of the criteria listed below:

In summary, we treat anyone with gait deviations due to disability or injury. We see adult and paediatric patients. Our main clients come to us with Cerebral palsy, stroke, congenital limb deformity, ABI, ASD, global delay, MS, Parkinsons, MND and others.

It is rarely too early to improve your mobility- physiotherapy and rehabilitation immediately after an injury or diagnosis increases the likelihood of a better outcome or maintaining function.

It is rarely too late to improve your mobility- research shows that the brain heals and adapts almost indefinitely with the appropriate stimuli and with concentrated effort.

Do I have to be able to walk to attend the gait clinic?

Surprisingly not! Some of our patients are currently in wheelchairs, but would like to look at the latest in assistive technology to assist with their ability to either stand, or begin the process of returning to walking.

Some of our patients are just looking to be able to make their transfers easier.

We are experienced orthotists and physiotherapists who have seen a very broad range of clients.

Even if you just want to know your options and what is available, please contact us.

What are the benefits?

The Gait Clinic provides true multidisciplinary assessment, planning, ongoing rehabilitation and review of an individual’s mobility.

We enable:
  • One stop assessment and plan: Reduces wait times, cost, decision ambiguity, and funding issues.
  • Latest evidence based practice
  • Innovative thinking: We make solutions tuned to your specific needs and lifestyle
  • Education: We make you the key decision-maker.
  • Recommended plan aims to advance your future mobility not just your current mobility
  • Your physiotherapist and orthotist will be in the same room making combined decisions together. This reduces confusion over aims and gets everyone working in the same direction.

It also allows a less costly assessment as there is less double handling of tasks which will make your NDIS budget go further

What DONT we do?
  • We don’t just offer a generic solution
  • We don’t just look at an individual’s current ability
  • We don’t just choose the ‘safe’ option
  • We aren’t just a gait analysis clinic
  • We don’t assume we know what ‘moving better’ means to our clients
  • We don’t waste your time with multiple appointments at multiple sites with multiple health professionals
