The Gait Clinic

Surprisingly not! Some of our patients are currently in wheelchairs, but would like to look at the latest in assistive technology to assist with their ability to either stand, or begin the process of returning to walking.

Some of our patients are looking to be able to make their transfers easier. We are experienced orthotists and physiotherapists who have seen a very broad range of clients. Even if you just want to know your options and what is available please contact us.

  • We don’t just offer a generic solution
  • We don’t just look at an individual’s current ability
  • We don’t just choose the ‘safe’ option
  • We aren’t just a gait analysis clinic
  • We don’t assume we know what ‘moving better’ means to our clients
  • We don’t waste your time with multiple appointments at multiple sites with multiple health professionals

Our clinic is not tailored towards able bodied athletes looking to improve the biomechanics of running, jumping etc. We are primarily concerned with helping people with physical and/or neurological issues.

A gait disturbance can cause many symptoms including:
- Heel pain when walking
- Aching feet
- Ankle pain
- Pain in foot arch
- Pain in heel of foot
- Sore toes
- Achilles tendon pain when walking

If you experience any kind of pain, fatigue, weakness or spasticity which is limiting your walking, or if you have an atypical or antalgic gait, then you may benefit from seeing one of our specialists and receiving a gait assessment.

We help treat anyone who is experiencing gait problems and difficulty walking due to disability or injury. Our patients commonly come to us with gait problems relating to Cerebral palsy, stroke, congenital limb deformity, ABI, ASD, global delay, MS, Parkinsons, MND and others. Both adults and children are welcome to attend our clinic.

A gait analysis with one of our specialists is the best way to properly diagnose and treat your condition.
